1 Orchard and 2 Garden Spaces

Community Orchard at 334 Forest- pick your own, community green space with pergola, prairie and bee keeping. Community Gardens behind the orchard – assigned raised beds where families grow their own produce. Kids Explorer Garden 1426 16 th St- Shared with the neighborhood, explored by children; these raised beds are gardened by FAO staff and volunteers. 100% of produce is given away.

The garden and orchard provide free produce for residents of King Irving, Riverbend, and surrounding areas to increase access to healthy food in a food desert. Last year the gardens produced approximately 900 lbs. of produce and we hope to match that annually. We benefit the neighbors, giving no cost garden plot usage to 8 or more diverse families. We supply them with mulch, compost, and a beautifully maintained property. Our gardens and orchard will be utilized for education. We hope our bees will produce honey for us. The orchard apples, raspberries, strawberries can all be picked by the public and the orchard offers a beautiful green space for neighborhood enjoyment.
